Michael Steier studied at Virginia Tech and the University of Delaware, where he also served as a Carl H. Pforzheimer Research Assistant from 2005 to 2007, supporting the editors of Shelley and His Circle (Harvard UP) and The Complete Poetry of Percy Bysshe Shelley (Johns Hopkins UP).
He is the author of Byron, Hunt, and the Politics of Literary Engagement, which was published by Routledge in 2019. His publications also include articles on Lord Byron, Leigh Hunt, and their circles in Studies in Romanticism, the Byron Journal, and the Hazlitt Review. He is a member of the Byron and Hazlitt Societies.
He currently lives in New Jersey where he works for an educational nonprofit and is an Adjunct Faculty member in the English and Philosophy Department at the County College of Morris.
